A couple of months ago my mother shipped us homemade cookies that all the boys thoroughly enjoyed. I tossed the shipping box on top of the refrigerator and forgot about it (after putting the bag of cookies on the counter that is).
Fast forward to this week.
Tuesday Jon took the boys out shopping for the adults in the family which he then wrapped and put under the tree. (umm…he wrapped the GIFTS and put them under the tree. Not the adults.)
Wednesday morning we all opened presents. Jon gave me my present from the boys to unwrap first. (Remember I already HAD the present from him! Ninja.) TheLilOne is sitting on his knees on the couch next to me. As I pull off the paper he starts bouncing excitedly and yelling “YOU GOT COOKIES! YOU GOT COOKIES!”
He was THERE when they got my present but I had to remove the paper and show him the contents (cool CD cases…one is PINK! Weee!) to convince him that there were no cookies. It was hysterical that (1) he recognized a random box from a couple of months ago and (2) he was SO animated bouncing a good six inches off the couch! I really wish we’d gotten it on video but this will remain one of my favorite Christmas memories!
Up next…the full proposal story.
